Two Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
